Mixed Use Occupancies

This course will examine the code provisions affecting mixed uses. Mixed uses with

residential uses above retail stores and parking are a popular development for many

cities. Also, section CBC 508 and 509 will be reviewed to understand non-separated

uses and unlimited area buildings.

Gerald Craig, P.E., is the Building Official for the City of Santa Ana and will give an

abbreviated presentation addressing common structural issues with wood frame over a

concrete podium.
