1999 boco?

Yes! Been away and have let this go to long. What I am looking for is the section /sections that apply to R-2 occupancy for fire protection. In older versions which I have the code allow fire walls in place of sprinklers. It seems that has gone away with the 2000 to 2009 IBC. If anyone can post the section from the 1999 BOCO I would be most grateful.

1999 BOCA, 904.9 Use Group R2

An automatic fire suppression system shall be provided throughout all buildings with an occupancy in Use Group R2, other than residential care facilities, in accordance with 906.2.1 or 906.2.2.

Exception: Buildings which do not exceed 2 stories, including basements which are not considered as a story above grade, and a maximum of 12 dwelling units per fire area. Each dwelling unit unit shall have at least 1 door opening to an exterior exit access that leads directly to the exits required to serve that dwelling unit.
