We are thinking about offering a two-day short course on the 2012 Wood Frame Construction Manual, September 2014. Have you used the previous edition and do you think it would be a valuable program for the builder/code community?

Here’s a link to the 2012 WFCM: Wood Frame Construction Manual

I use the WFCM often, though few others around here have even heard of it. I think a course would be a huge benefit, if only it were a little closer.

Your short courses are very good and worthwhile, I've passed on what I've learned on the jobsite. At the normal price you won't connect with the builder community. I've been the only builder at most of these types of classes. I've wondered if our land grant university could send advanced students or interns out to pre-enrolled groups of local contractors to give builders basic engineering type classes, much as our extension agents do for the farming community.
