As you all know tomorrow is 'National Take an Inspector to Work Day'. So I have asked our most benevolent Forum founder to accompany me to the exclusive Fisher Island (where Oprah, Julia Roberts, André Agassi ect live) tomorrow. Changing out a couple 208y/120 transfer switches and Jeff is bringing his camera. This could go very well or it could be a train wreck. Stay tuned for pics.

If I had known, I would have scheduled a Chinese restaurant exhaust cleaning for tomorrow. But I have one scheduled for July 1, a Monday. All inspectors are welcome. I will supply scrapers, gloves, and rags. Come and experience the grease scene for a fun-filled day.

I gotta tell those of you that have never met Jeff he is a genuinely nice guy. Funny and had no problem having conversations with my peers he met for the first time today.

And there was a bonus, never expected him to jump in and help.

Here he is taking the switching mechanisms out of the new ATS's.

And here he is reinstalling one.

You are a good photographer because I had no idea you were taking pictures.

Thanks Chris, I had an absolute blast today and it felt good to get my hands dirty again. I will be working on some photos hopefully tonight. Just got home. I had to stop in Ft Lauderdale to help someone out.

First, there is access to Fisher Island. We were all on the list to take the Ferry to the billionaire's island except for one person. Guess who? Yes, the man in charge. Chris. LOL After a little laugh and some phone calls, we were able to get the boss on the list. Very funny because I was a nobody and was on the list.

So the first thing we do is unpack the new ATS equipment once we get there.

Of course, we need to start unpacking the tools from Chris's truck/van/mobile office/miniature warehouse/roach coach/workbench

Then the big man checks voltage to make sure we are safe. Even the neutral due to past history. (ask Chris about that one)

Let us not forget to check the phase rotation and see how many guys we can fit in a small space

Now the REAL work begins

Chris drawing squares so Rudy & I can punch out circles

Now we are left with a large empty space from the 2 removed ATS's

Now it is time to marry the PVC and metal hub

What horrible conditions Chris works in! Damn ocean breeze and sun

The real muscle of the group. Notice the look he is giving Chris..........

Admiring the work done inside the box by Rudy and myself

The final product with ground swept below (you are welcome) and switches online. Tested by generator company.

Let's have a round of applause for the man, the myth, the legend, the NEC master himself, Chris Kennedy

I hope you got the haircut you were hoping on today after work. Anyone else see a little Clint Eastwood here besides me?
