Dealing with one of the "Dollar Store" contractor. Issue came up with the duct work that is installed up the rear of the building exposed to the weather, not being protected. The commentary says "Although most ducts are constructed of galvanized steel or aluminum that will resist corrosion, these materials may not withstand long-term exposure to weather" How are you inspecting/enforcing this and what are you requiring as a protective coating?

Getting the same old story from the contractor that no other jurisdiction enforces this. Thanks

Define long term. The same galvanized material that are used to make roof flashing, caps and panels are used to make ductwork. Seal it properly and be done. It will last 20 years or more

Nothing last forever, but that's common material, and I've never seen any coating save for paint, maybe, or craptastic foam roof spray.

Brent.
