Ouch! Does this in fact mean no doors allowed beneath bathroom sinks in T-II & T-III's?

exception 3. says cabinets only allowed in residential dwelling units.

I believe the employee breakroom is covered by Ex 1 of my 2003 Ansi 117 which would exempt kitchen sinks without a range....Doctors office is employee work area....ICC land not ADA....

Employee break rooms, unless there is a kitchenette with stove, are allowed to have parallel approach (606.2 exc 1). Cabinets allowed under sink for parallel approach (allowed but not preferred).

Exc 3 describes full casework that is removable, not casework that has the knee and toe clearances built in with flooring and finishes installed inside the knee/toe clearances. IMO exc 3 is for "adaptable" conditions that are typical to residential units, not built as accessible sink or lavatory conditions required in public agency or commercial buildings.

In classrooms; the sink (or lav as applicable) must have clear floor space with knee and toe clearances. Casework/cabinetry is not an issue if the approach, clear floor space with knee and toe clearances are provided. The result is a clear "hole" under the fixture thus there is no "cabinet" in the way. Sizes and clearances are different based on student age group.
