Hi Everyone,

New to this site. My cast iron drain lines from the kitchen are really clogged with 39 years of hardened grease. I've read abs is less likely to clog but I'm pretty sure plastic can't be used in transitions through the drywall going up. Can I use ABS for the exposed horizontal lines along the ceiling in the garage and keep the transitions into the drywall as cast iron? I also noticed lots of rust spots that I learned the hard way that when they drip onto car paint it ruins it. I'm sure it takes decades so if I got iron I'd be fine but I can more easily get black ABS and cut it myself and swap the pipes out. Thanks in advance.
