Accessible microwave

I have a public access kitchen with an over-the-range microwave that is higher than the obstructed and unobstructed reach ranges. Would it be acceptable to use an additional table-top microwave placed on a working surface in the kitchen if if the microwave is placed so as to not fall outside the reach range (at the front edge) If the microwave would have some sort of guide or stops to prevent it from being pushed backwards??? It would be a parallel approach. As I understand it, it would be ok on a max 34" working surface but I am not entirely sure my understanding is correct.

yes, you're fine. you can even place this microwave on the table in an area not necessarily in plain sight as long as a disable person has access to it within the same room with the others. this is an item to be ADA compliant only and most likely may or may not be used that often but you want it in case it is needed. also, i do not believe you need any guides or stops since the force applied to open the microwave and push the buttons is no more than the force to open a door.

Thanks everyone. Gonna suggest the non-slip liner. They did have other more serious problems that the DP needs to work out but at least that one has a less problematic solution.
