Just need to vent.

I really like it when I get new building inspectors that call me for advice and then argue with me and interrupt me when I am trying to help them. Seriously, you've asked me to take time out of my day to help you with a problem. How about at least letting me finish my sentence before you start arguing that what I'm doing is wrong. Even if it was wrong, you don't have to do it, you need to argue because on some level you know what you're doing is wrong and need to prove yourself right everyone.

I usually can't help myself and ask them that if they were so sure of the answer, why did they call me??????

I have a good friend that is a great electrical guy...He gets questions from 6 guys when the contractor doesn't like what each inspector tells them and he keeps checking, and then all call him....I get it a little and it just depends on my mood as to how I will answer...

As one who has had to endure a few of
the same type of calls, ...I would simply
say that "this is my interpretation of Section xxx".
If you have a different interpretation, then go
with that......You are not going to "brow beat" me
with your vitriol in support of your interpretation !
If you do not like my answer, then go look somewhere
else.

I don't get questions from new inspectors and we have a bunch of them. A few seasoned inspectors call me now and then. I never get a bad attitude from them.

More enjoyable when they call you and remind you that they attended your class "years" ago, kept your card and am calling because you offered to listen to their questions (smiling).
