The Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) has recently announced competition to design a home that meets affordability, energy and accessibility criteria as part of the 2015 Virginia Governor’s Housing Conference (VAGHC).

We encourage everyone to use their creativity and ingenuity to design a home that incorporates those essential characteristics which will facilitate the occupants to “age in place”.

A specific lot in Hampton, Virginia has been selected as the build site and the winning design will be constructed by Habitat for Humanity on that lot.

The competition is open to:

residents or businesses in Virginia

full-time students enrolled in a Virginia high school or institution ofhigher learning

amateurs or professionals

licensed or unlicensed

individuals or teams
