Greetings to all!
I have a new restaurant going in to an existing tenant space and they have
installed a new 3 compartment sink (along with the other restaurant stuff).
The plumber-of-record has installed pvc drain lines from each drain outlet,
in each sink compartment and in to an above grade grease interceptor and
then in to a floor sink (i.e. - direct connection of the sink drain lines in to
the grease interceptor). I am challenging this type of type of connection.
It is my belief that the 3 comp. sink should have an air gap type of connection
before going in to the above grade grease interceptor.
What say ye? Please cite, either for or against, this type of drain connection.
We are using the 2006 Edition of the IPC.
Thanks ya`ll!
