Greetings all,

It seems the City will annex a piecs of property that has on it a couple of small facilities handling chemicals, processing and so forth. I don't know details as it has not been a concern being out of the jursidiction.

What, if anything should happen with regards to fire code inspections, certifcates of occupancy and the like?

always something odd to think about around here

Well you get what you annexx

Hopefully they are in good shape and will work with you

Free c of o , inspection, require any permits you issue, try to clean it up if needed ,

List of chemicals and quantities

Depending on the hazard, you might need to put them on your list of facilities to check after a natural disaster.

Funny that you mention that. We had a gut and remodel of a bowling alley that was annexed awhile back. It's fine now. But when I originally looked in the building I was almost totally appalled at the electric/mech room except that nothing surprises me anymore. I've been a master electrician for over 25 years and it was the absolute worst I had ever seen. I wish I had taken pics!

Yea I am not sure in Tx you can do much when you annex an area.

I do know you are requried to provide full city services to them though.

existing non conforming is the term I heard alot.
