Apartment Satelite Dish Installation Requirements

Article 810 specifies installation procedures on radio and television equipement.

If an apartment complex has a company install several 4 ft dish satelites on their buildings, does this type of installation fall under this category and require a permit and inspections?

Yes! See Section 101.2 - Scope [ "equipment" ] & 101.4.1 - Electrical [ "equipment" ] in the `06 IBC if your apartment complex buildings are more than 3 stories in height. If 3 stories or less, then refer to Section R105.1 [ "to erect, install, enlarge, alter, repair, remove, convert, or replace any electrical,..." ].

Mule - Never gave it much thought. Having seen how some are installed, it might be a good idea though.
