I have a box fill calculator on my iPod that is very handy and was only a few dollars. Also shows max allowed by box size.
 
Thanks Daddy... I usually leave box fill questions written in RED on the studs adjacent to the box in question.. downside of that is that sometimes, the box isn't overfilled. Much easier to have an app.
