BALCONY PROJECTION AT FIRE WALL

Having an issue understanding the exceptions for horizontal projections at fire walls (706.5.2). I have a balcony which projects approx. 3' past the termination of the fire wall and is parallel to it, but within the 4' either side. Exterior walls on either side are already 1 hr rated and will have 4' FRT sheathing each side, but I don't want to extend the fire wall to the edge of the balcony. Would it be simply a matter of making the wood framing for the balcony FRT? Do I need to not put fiber cement panel on the underside to make it not concealed? I'm having a hard time parsing the options presented by the exceptions (it's been two straight days of code summary and fixing this kind of stuff, so my brain's shot...), so I would appreciate some thoughts/advice on this.

Multifamily project (R-2), Type VB construction. 2015 IBC.

you need to satisfy IBC section 1406.2.1.1.1, I don't know if FTW meets this requirement for NFPA 286, Need to ask manufacture for testing data.

Did those sections get removed in the 2018 IBC? Or just moved somewhere else? I was trying to look them up in the commentary and we only have 2018 as we prepare to transition and that whole section is missing.

Sorry, I was referring to 1405.3 on Balconies...I must have accidentally deleted that part.
