Any pipe hanging requirements for bank tubing above the ceiling?
Does this fall under any certain I-code for review?
Should I even worry about it?

Seems every time I get a set of bank plans I have questions.

You mean the tubes for the drive-thru windows?

I don't know. It's not plumbing, and it's not in the mechanical code. Manufacturer's requirements for the vacuum machine would probably be my default.

JC, yes the tubes for the drive-thru, looking for hanger requirements, fire and smoke blocking, type of tubes used that kinda stuff. Plans real vague and not sure its my concern except for the items I listed.

Thanks for the response.

Nothing in the Icodes except rated penetrations and then it would be a hilti or other detail on type of plastic penetrant and what it is penetrating...

Is it in a Seismic zone?
The code refers to ASCE 7. ASCE 7 has an entire chapter titled Seismic Design Requirement of Nonstructural Components (Chapter 13 of ASCE 7-10) that is devoted to provisions on seismic bracing of nonstructural components. Unfortunately, not a lot of Designers are aware of this part of the ASCE.

Nice going Pc, interesting question leads to some good answers.

Applying codes is like finding your way through a swamp, you never know what by or how you will be bitten.

Pcinspector1,

The type of system that you mentioned in your OP
is also known as a Pneumatic Transport Tubing ( PTT )
System.........See what Wiki says here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pneumatic_tube.

More information can be viewed on these type of air
systems by searching on the Information Superhighway.

These type systems have been, and are used in other
applications as well.......The manufacturers of these
systems are the ones to consult for their installation
requirements..........That said, if these type of tubing
systems penetrate fire rated assemblies, the applicable
building & fire code would apply regarding the sealing
of the penetrations.

FWIW, ...Elon Musk wants to develop a HyperLoop system
to be able transport people in a similar type system.
Looks like `ol George Jetson may have been ahead of his time.
