Hey Bill,While we are off topic, how is Bend, Oregen doing these days. I haven't been back since '97. One of the most beautiful places I have ever been. I miss the early morning and evening runs along the river.
Hi Papio,

Bend is doing fine despite suffering through more than a few inept local politicians of late. The CBO for Deschutes County is a good friend of mine who's keeping the department together despite tough budget problems. The largest private employer in town has just been taken over by a venture capitol firm so who knows about it's future.

I took this video last summer of a trip up and down Pilot Butte, next to Drake Park it's probably the biggest tourist attraction around. Sorry if the lighting is a bit too washed out, I took it with a chest mounted Go Pro camera.

Please check out:

Thanks for asking.

Bill

Thanks for the video Bill, work computers keep me from checking it out right now (trying to be the last person in office to own a smart-phone or i-pad), but I will take a look when we get home. Are you a ski-guy at all? Any word on the Voodoo slopes this year? Have some fond memories of night ski-ing up there.

What is a smart phone?

Are you asking about Hoodoo? I suppose if you hit a tree in the dark they might want to use some voodoo to avoid a law suite.

Elderado CO has a few of night runs and us locals back in the day (20years ago) could ski there all day and night for any where from $5-$15 a pop.

Yes...Hoodoo. There may or may not have been as much imbibing at the lodge as sking on the slopes, and for 10 bucks it was more than affordable.

Hi Papio,

I'm a backcountry cross country nut. I know the terrain between Mt Bachelor, Brokentop and the South Sister like my back yard. When friends come and want to downhill, I telemark. Enjoy your weekend. This weekend will be the start of my motorcycle safety training for the season. I'm Jazzed.

Bill
