Bleacher requirements

We have a gymnasium having problems with bleacher seat board and foot board requirements, LSC states footboards and seatboards shall not be less than 9". This seems short for a seatboard, your knees will be beside your ears when sitting down!! Is this a standard height for most assembly bleachers??

Those are minimums. There are probably very few installations designed to the minimum.

If you have a team worth cheering for.. won't you be standing most of the time?

there is no real clear guidance.. other than accessibility.. which most high school, colleges, and Green Bay ignore, anyway.

LSC - Life Safety Code - NFPA 101 as promulgated by the National Fire Protection Association.

And you're not using ICC 300? It contains specific criteria for bleacher design.
