This might be made abundantly clear somewhere and I'm just missing it. I see that there is a way to become a paying BCF member, but I cannot find what perks are included in membership. The forum description says "If you would like to have improved access to the forum please upgrade" but I cannot find what "improved access" means. Lastly (and most importantly) does membership remove ads? The ads are extremely distracting! o_O

Thread 'Sawhorse Benefits'

There are benefits to being a Sawhorse in addition to knowing you are helping to support The Building Code Forum. I am working on adding a few more, including content only available to Sawhorses. Here is an update as of 14 January 2024.
  • NO BANNER ADS - You will not see Google AdSense Banner Ads
  • Sawhorses can upload images and files to threads
  • Access to the Sawhorse City section of the forum for code issues that may be too sensitive for the public.
  • Sawhorses can change their username. This requires admin approval after submission.

Yes, I personally financed this site for years, then had some help when we started the Sawhorse program. Today, without the Sawhorse membership program this site would not exist.

I had to start using a different browser. When the changes were made to remove ads for paying members it removed some of the ads for me, but not all. Then I switched browsers and haven't seen an ad since.

No ads for me, not sure when it happened but I can't recall seeing any for some time.
