California above ground pool questions

We are buying an above ground pool. Our yard is fenced. House is alarmed with chime on doors. We have purchased a pool alarm for water level. Being that we are in CA, are we required to add a separate fence around the pool/deck area that will also be put in? I am keeping the deck under the 30" rule and less than 120 Sq ft. Any help is greatly appreciated. So many laws in CA that I can't find a consensus.
 
Comes down to "risk management", pool party, lots of kids, no lifeguard? what is the surface area of the pool and its depth?
