It is once again that time of year where the bills start mounting for this forum. As I have done in email, I am again asking for anyone to contribute to the expenses of this forum if you can. 2011 worked out OK even though we had some large expenses with updates and added some mobile apps for Apple and the Android market. They both have updates due and we should be working on them this weekend. In addition, we have a regular software update pending this weekend that was suppose to happen last weekend. I am trying to get the IT company to do the updates on weekends when we are at a lower volume of interaction and hits.
We added a banner that should not be visible if you are a supporting member and logged in to help offset the costs but it is dependent on clicks and views so it is hit and miss money that takes a lot just to make a little. We still don't have a sponsor banner that would bring in more money. This is something I am trying to hold off on.
This year the donations are significantly less than last year and I am hoping that the banner revenue will take the place of the loss in contributions from the members. I thank those that have contributed and it seems as though it is the same people who stepped up to the plate in 2011 that are also once again contributing in 2012. Out of over 2,600 registered members, only 61 have contributed since we started accepting contributions over a year ago.
I feel as though this is an important forum and very helpful and useful to our industry. As I stated from the beginning, I will do whatever I have to to keep this floating. Unfortunately, that costs money, something that not everyone has. We are thankful for your participation and hope that we can get new blood to find a way to contribute to this forum. At this point I would love to have an advertiser take on some banner space to help with the costs.
For those that contribute, the top advertising banners should not be visible and you will have access to a private forum area not accessible to regular members or the public that can be used for sensitive items and or discussions.
Thank you everyone for your continued participation in this forum. Lets have a great 2012..
