Cops were chasing a stolen car, the rest is unbelievable. I am surprised that taking out a corner caused so much destruction. Aside from the unfortunate fatality, the dynamics of the building partial collapse is interesting.
 
The family will probably sue the building inspector for approving deficient construction.

Not sure if you can see it … there is a pipe column on the corner holding up the second floor, making room for a corner entrance. The car took out the column.
 
Looks like a store front window with a brick bay, cantilevered over the street and front door at a 45 deg angle
Sounds like a couple of pieces of steel were holding the whole thing up and the key column got taken out, bringing down the whole house of cards
