H-3 building. We need to provide a smoke and heat removal in a room that is 3500 sqft
This room contains 1B flammable liquid in racks, up to 22'-0" high. So it is considered a high-piled combustible storage, I am assuming. The racks in this room holds the containers, and we have in-rack sprinkler heads, which are a foam system

From what I understand, IBC 910.2.2, we need to provide smoke & heat vents. Per IBC 910.2 exception 2 states this is not required if the sprinklers are ESFR. This room is actually a foam sprinkler system. The IFC does not state if a foam system is part of the exception or not. It only states ESFR and automatic sprinkler system per 903.3.1.1.

Does a foam system give us exemption from the smoke/heat vent requirements?
