Is nfpa 80 verified *latch* hardware stamped/labelled in some subtle way that I can readily identify? I know that panic bars are labelled, but it occurred to me that I can't recall seeing a standard latch labelled...

I think so, but I can't remember what the marking is. A "standard" latchset may have a latchbolt with a throw of (IIRC) 3/8". A latchset or lockset labeled for use on a firedoor has a minimum latchbolt throw of (again IIRC) 3/4". (Some might allow 1/2") A lockset or latchsest has to have a U.L. (or equivalent) label for use on a fire door. The "U.L." is typically stamped into the face of the bezel surrounding the latchbolt -- the part that gets recessed into the edge stile of the door.

Anyone got pics of this?

Yeah, I saw nothing during a recent inspection. Door was listed, closer and frame was not. So I *assumed* the latch wasn't..... But asked for "verification or replacement" as one does when one ain't 100 per cent sure.
