Is it reasonable and a requirement of code to require a permit, and plans with engineering etc for a boat launch ramp?

No docks or other structures are involved.

Is it part of your normal permitting process??

Private lake I take

Does the engineering dept maybe cover this??

Interesting question. My initial reaction was no, it is not a structure, and unless you typically permit "flatwork", driveways, parking pads, etc, then why would you on this. But then, having been around ramps most of my life, I understand they are a public access item.

At the end of the day, is this consistent with your overall permitting policy? To what standard would you review and inspect this? In the IBC, the ramp requirements would make that a really long boat ramp.

I would let this one go myself, but will be anxious to see other replies.

And I am speaking to a local AHJ permit only.
