I have a few new guys that are going to be going for their B2.

I did mine so long ago under the UBC, I don't even remember whether the ACI318 was reference on the test.

For those on here, that have in recent history taken the B2, did you use the full ACI-318, or did you use the Concrete Manual?

Since I probably will need to purchase one or the other, opinions?

The Manual is far cheaper, not that I would unnecessarily skimp on it.

I recently took and passed the Commercial Building Inspector Cert (2019 CA version, but based off of the 2018 IBC) and I didn't have anything other than the 2-part CBC book. There were definitely a few questions that drew from the ACI manual but the multiple choice questions were pretty intuitive and I passed. I don't know if I got those questions specifically or not, but I passed. I would not recommend spending the extra money, at least not for the first attempt, unless they are not very familiar with general concrete requirements.

been 7 years for me and the list of books they gave that we could use the concrete manual was one. The questions I remember were right out of the manual. the manual doesn't break down like the IBC so a little harder to find answers. But from what I remember it was mostly common questions that could be answered if you have been in the trade long enough.
