Chapter 12 discusses that you need to have 4" for the base and we are using ceramic tile on the floors and walls. If we want a grout joint instead of a cove in the base, is that acceptable. There are not any showers.
 
I don't see anything in the IBC that would require a "cove", unless the Cali code changed it.
