Hi all. I'd like to install composite siding (60% wood, 40% recycled plastic) on a Type 1 building soffit.

(2012) 1404 and 1405.1 limits combustible materials on exterior walls, but this is not an exterior wall. Are there any other code sections that would address this particular condition? (composite material on exterior soffit/ sign band)

thanks in advance!

I would classified it as a wall, it is not a roof, floor or foundations, it is vertical like a wall, it is mor than trim.
