If its just tape then no, tape is only a sealant, not a legal means of duct connection. Listed metallic flexible duct requires screws the same as rigid metal duct per SMACNA.

You can do all of that or you can go to Home Depot and buy a bathroom fan. Ninety-nine percent of the population didn't know that you can do all of that and the people that work at Home Depot know which aisle the fans are in.

That is not meant to diminish the worth of the information but rather to point out the practical approach most likely to be utilized in the concrete jungle.

I even considered entering the links that you posted at the forum's 'Useful Links' thread. I decided not to do that as the one link that I really wanted is behind a paywall.
