Corridor rating for door? Is this whole area a corridor?

Michigan Building Code 2015. Un-separated mixed use fully fire suppressed. 1/2 hour rating required at the apartments.

However, there is one business use space in the same area. I haven't received a formal write up but am being told the door and glass for this office space needs to be rated. Likely because it's shared corridor.

My question is, is the whole enclosed space considered the corridor? Or is it just the space in the path of egress? Here is a link to a diagram of the space. Plus since its a business area and only requires 1 means of egress. I believe business has an exception for it being rated.

If even though its a little off of the main path of egress, if i need to rate it, it only needs a 20 minute door and glass. Which is an add due to my miss on the drawings.

did you check areas for non separated occupancy?
Im not seeing anything that talks about corridors in reference to non-separated occupancy's.

Section 508.3.3 Separation just states that there is no separation required between nonseparated occupancies. With the exception to r-2 dwelling units which references section 420.2 separation walls. Which then references section 708.3 which says being sprinkled we can reduce rating to not less than 1/2 hour.

But does the corridor rating overrule the fact that its a non-separated occupancy?

The corridor serves the R occupancy, so the corridor rating for the R occupancy applies to the entire corridor.

The corridor would need to maintain the rating but the walls between the two occupancies could be reduced or eliminated

Let me clarify....If the corridor is also the unit rating, it never goes away as the unit rating does not...If the corridor in a mixed use building does not serve the R or serves an R OL of 10 or less people it can have no rating....And of course, read the footnotes for 13 or R or D and different R uses....
