The "1 hour rating" goes away in a fully sprinklered building for a B use IIB construction.....Does anyone have input on how said wall is supposed to be constructed at that point? Any requirements for smoke tight? I have heard this called both ways and I am looking for other insight....Or is it such a low risk in this type of building it can be treated as if the wall does not exist?

Thanks!

No wall required or built it however they want, same with doors, can have or not have

Thanks cda.....That is kinda what I was thinking, the corridor is not required, the rating is not required, so therefore no real requirements......just wanted to make sure that because it was "enclosed" we didn't have to worry about smoke from a tenant space fire making the corridor untenable before anyone else knew about it....or some weird fire science stuff that I don't know about....

nope, but relying the fire sprinkler system will work, and the occupants can find an exit to get out of.

Can be of any materials meeting the requirements for the building construciton type it is in (combustible/noncombustible) and needs to meet flamespread requirements for interior finish.

Glass, chain link fence, studs and ordinary drywall, woodpanels etc.
