ASOC theater (Astor Street Opry Company)Couple photos of the results of remodeling design work that I had did work on and assisting in the actual remodel.Note: The steps in the front are stage prop steps but are attached for rigidity. There is some fully compliant steps on the side of the stage out of view of photo. However, this is an existing building.ASOC Interior.jpg[/attachment:vg53biaa]ASOC exterior greyscale.jpg[/attachment:vg53biaa]

Re: Couple of Photos of my work on the ASOC's theater buildingWhat it used to look like before the renovation in 2007: Used to be for a period of time as a laundry mat and Maytag repair shop. Building was originally built in the 1940s time frame. Exact original use is unknown. These are some of the photos I taken before the remodel as part of existing conditions assessment. I had an engineer come in and do an existing condition assessment because measurements of the building had not been completed and I was getting some varying numbers. So I was playing it safe at this point. Final measurements resulted in the building being exempt and generally accepted by OBAE board members as it was at the point of splitting hairs. DSC00025.JPG[/attachment:1omo45ov]DSC00028.JPG[/attachment:1omo45ov]DSC00029.JPG[/attachment:1omo45ov]DSC00043.JPG[/attachment:1omo45ov]DSC00042.JPG[/attachment:1omo45ov]DSC00045.JPG[/attachment:1omo45ov]In the existing wood frame addition: ( Roof - 2x14" roof joists. Don't ask me, I didn't arrange the direction of the roof. )Normally, it would be pitched with the lower side being away from the C.M.U. building. Budget and time-frame didn't provide room from re-framing the roof so we had to work with the way it is. So, we insulated the room and did some framing work to make this the back-stage area and it was at a higher floor elevation then the C.M.U. building (which is older). The multi-ply wooden trusses were supported by the CMU wall / Brick Pilasters on both sides.DSC00049.JPG[/attachment:1omo45ov]DSC00063.JPG[/attachment:1omo45ov]

Is that in the town or the county??

Astoria is such a nice place. My stepdad is the BO for Clatsop.

I am going to go out on a limb and guess that Astoria has one of the lowest rates of skin cancer.

    Lets see those pics.

    Hey there Mr. Astoria,

You put in effort to post all of those pictures and it didn't work. Do us a favor and fix them so that we can see your work.

    Thanks.

    Righter,

Would that be Steve or Jim?

However, the project was in the city of Astoria and at the time, steve was the B.O. Of Astoria and Clatsop County and Warrenton by contract and his appointee who was a certified B.O. At the time was Terre Gift for astoria and warrenton and Jim did the county.

Shortly after the project, Jack was the appointee for Astoria and Warrenton and when Steve's contract expired, Jack became the B.O. For the city of Astoria. Terre had relocated before hand.

Nope, that one is in Cannon Beach and it would have been an interesting feat of money and budget to make a CMU building look like that of course.
