Covered Vehicular Passageway

The following is from Ontario Building Code Division B part 3:

3.2.3.18. Covered Vehicular Passageway
(1) A covered vehicular passageway designed as a receiving or shipping area shall be separated from every building or
part of a building adjoining it by a fire separation having a fire-resistance rating not less than 1.5 h.
(2) A covered vehicular passageway constructed below grade shall be of noncombustible construction

Is covered vehicular passageway common in buildings? Could you please give a real such passageway? Thank you in advance.

These are functionally a garage in the building strictly for the loading and unloading of vehicles.
