please provide the Code Section or Sections that you are
wondering about.

Assume a bank teller line, or grocery store checkout. Ignore ADA counter height for the moment. Are you asking ...can one teller or cashier have a plexi-shield to accommodate customers who don't / won't wear a mask, and other positions don't have a shield for those that do ?

Is the Covid screen a request from the employee because wearing a mask while working hinders his/her breathing ability due to a underlying health issue such as COPD?

I do not see it as an equal or better issue and nothing to do with a persons civil rights.

Not an employee, A plaintiff's expert has raised this as a discrimination consideration. Not part of initial complaint of a serial litigant in a WC.
County requires masks, screens are optional, ADA does not require either only customer safety.

County requires masks, screens are optional
I think your answer is the county who made the requirements for a mask also provided an equal or better option as the AHJ with regards to the Covid issue so there would be no discrimination. What do the county offices provide at their counters? Masked employees or screens.

Given the temporary nature of the screens there are no permits or screen police checking them. As to ADA compliance, there are no specific technical requirements only a requirement to provide safe facilities. It is left to the owner to make that determination and comply with local mandates..
