de-energizing drive before operating motor disconnect switch

I know that the NEC allows one NOT to provide a disconnect switch at a motor if that motor is controlled by a drive (or at least a FPN would indicate such). I don't like the idea however of not having a disconnect at the motor and have to now added a warning sign to the disconnect.

I know that the other approach is to require an aux contact on the disconnect that opens before the actual switch opens and that this can be used to shut down the drive a split second before the motor.

I'm wondering how best to specify this. Just looking for best wording and to make sure I'm not missing something that is required here.

Thanks,

Mike
