Definition of Work Area 2024 IRC

WORK AREA. That portion or portions of a building consisting of all reconfigured spaces as indicated on the construction documents. Work area excludes other portions of the building where incidental work entailed by the intended work must be performed and portions of the building where work not initially intended by the owner is specifically required by this code.

So they borrowed this definition from the IEBC and added it to the 2024 IRC, I don't have any of the 2024 books. Did they also import any of the work area provisions for alterations into the 2024 IRC?

We have this so we don't have to repeat definitions, but it seems like we are going to anyway....
