Distillery control area exterior walls

Good morning-

We're designing a 1-story distillery with four control areas. IBC 414.2.1 indicates that control areas shall be "...separated from each other by fire barriers constructed in accordance with Section 707..." Can I assume that this separation occurs only at walls between the control area and other spaces, and not at the exterior wall portion of a control area? This would make sense, but I wanted to check with the experts. Note that there aren't/won't be any buildings close enough to the proposed distillery that fire separation distance will come into play.

No it does not need to be onen hour

Yes, my question was basically: does the exterior wall of a control area need to be rated? Sorry for the confusion...and thanks for your answer!

We need control areas because the quantity of hazardous material (in this case, flammable liquid) exceeds the allowable amount for a single control area, and this is a way to increase the allowable quantity within the facility w/o having to go to a H classification. Thanks!

Even though the exterior walls may be ok; check with the Fire Marshal, your 4 control area layout will be subject to quite some scrutiny due to high flammability in distillery processes.

looks like it is legal, but doing four control areas may just mess up how the operations run, as in they may get in the way.

Should have asked what type and size are most of the containers the chemicals will be in, and how many are you Anticipating per control area?????
