Cutting new man-door openings into an existing 6" conc. tilt panel wall serving new restrooms. Due to considerable loading conditions above, the structural engineer has asked for 6" tube steel 12" off edge of rough opening, ultimately tying in to a header of similar size. The 6" conc wall, plus the 6" tube steel make for a door frame that will have a wide-throat, probably with a 9-1/8" wide frame transitioning into drywall to make up the rest of the 12+ inches of rough door frame throat depth.

Does the extra-wide throat depth interfere with the accessible 12" and 18" clearances on the respective sides of the strike? Can't find anything that specifically addresses that.
