Hi,
I have a dry electric sauna room in a home. The homeowner requested having a Kerdi membrane going about 8” up the wall. The wall assembly of all 4 walls is composed of 6mil poly on studs, horizontal and vertical strapping and horizontal cedar planks finish.
The place is ventilated passively by a 4” pipe at the ceiling and gap at the bottom of the door. It is reasonable to assume that the room will be used intermittently, and won’t be generating much moisture.
Still, because the poly runs behind the Kerdi pan I’m a little apprehensive.
Any of you have encountered this situation before?
Thoughts and bits of advice are welcome.
