I have an existing space in a semi-Commercial bldg. that has
an existing 4" backflow preventer / potable water lines.
In an effort to provide some expansion for future electrical
needs for the building, an EC wants to install a dry type
transformer and some panelboards in this existing space
with the backflow preventer........This location is not definite
yet, ...the EC is just asking for the nearest location to an
exterior, pad mounted transformer to which they will be
tapping off of..........Also, a question has arisen concerning
the actual placement of the transformer [ i.e. - on the floor,
...wall mounted, or above a ACT grid ].
Does anyone see any issues with installing these "new"
electrical components in this existing space ?.........The space
is not currently sprinkled nor will it be.......I am referencing
the `08 NEC.
Thanks for any input !
