Note for those that have updated to Adobe X with e-codes

Q: "I have to enter the serial number every day to unlock online and offline. My security setting is set to not delete passwords and I have updated the software. This started happening about a week ago, can you provide any guidance instead of having to reset this every day?"

A: "If you are using Adobe Reader X, Adobe pushed an update last week that discontinues allowing Adobe to store the serial number so the PDF will stay unlocked. Our support team is working with Adobe to find a way to resolve the issue. At this time we do not have a way to fix the issue. The only thing we can suggest is to roll back your Adobe to the version before the update or to use Adobe Reader 9 until this issue can be resolved."

IT just updated me to X yesterday.......took out my 2009 and 2012 e-codes. And when I try to enter the code, it tells me I have exceeded my allowed logins or whatever.......grrrr :(

Fatboy, do you know how to reset your e-codes? I ended up having to set back my adobe to the previous version and now they work fine. Of course, that was after I had to reset them all.

Codegeek, I think the idea is that you re-enter the serial number, but when I do, it gives me the message that I've exceeded some limit. Not feeling up to dealing with IT, or the ICC today, too close to the weekend.

I purposely don't do the "upgrades"... the AHJ has been pretty specific about what versions of what will work with their system.

I rolled back to 9 but saw this on Adobe site. Had to reset my numbers too.

Security updates are available for Adobe Acrobat X (10.1) and Reader X (10.1) and earlier versions. Adobe urges customers to update their respective products promptly.

I just had our IT update me to the latest, 10.1.2 was it I think, but it didn't do any good either, still kicks it out.
