when do you inspect what was a singe family or two family home that has been turned into a boarding house or apartments?

Good for them!....but isn't it already illeagal under the building/ fire code? And aren't there alredy fines for that?

I'm guessing that there are already numerouse fines and ordinances in place that could be applied, if

the elected officials had any backbones or integrity to do so.

NYS requires AHJ's to conduct fire safety and property maintenance inspections of commercial and 'A' occupancies and multiple residences (three or more units and three or more stories) every three years.

My jurisdiction amended to annual inspections many years ago.

IMHO, annual inspections are the right way to go (it's usually a jurisdiction budget issue that prevents it)
