Greetings all,

Well I've been asked about clothing requirements for our electricians. What's happening is that we are changing uniform providers and they are inquiring about flame retardant uniforms. Since I've been out of the trade for awhile I don't know what's going on with the NFPA 70E (?). I'm almost positive it's been adopted by Tx and I guess it would cover this since it's all about safety I'm told. Can anyone elaborate?

thanksabunch

Our office policy is 100% cotton here for general inspections...we haven't had to address flame retardant uniforms yet, but I will ask the head inspector tomorrow.

for electricians, 70E. Fr clothing, pants and shirts. electrical safety shoes, no massive metal buckles (none by ltter of the rules) it's extensive enough. i think if shoes are steel toe, they need a rubber mat under them any time they are working in a panel, gloves, hoods, faceshields, etc, etc
