OK Jeff, Here's a topic

I am consulting on a high rise mostly group B building (26 floors)

Can anyone tell me when elevator lobby protection similar to IBC 707.14.1 first appeared in any building Code?

Particularly the SBC was enforced at time of construction but I don't know what year it was built.

Re: Elevaor Lobby protection - Existing

I have a 79???? 70 something SBC at work. If no one comes up with an answer I'll see if I can dig it out and look for you.

1985 unadmended SBCCI - Southern Building Code section 506.6.2.

All highrises shall have elevator lobbies - exception atrium, open exterior corridors on the entire width of buildinding with elevators located on the exterior, at the main entrance level of the building.

Builder Bob,

Would that be the 'Standard Building Code', as administered by the

Southern Building Code Congress International ( SBCCI ), 1985

Edition?
