Customer wants a faucet with no sink at a Coffee Bar. We are doing a pot filler at the stove but this seems different, and when it starts to drip will
ruin things. Does anyone know a code section? I didn't see anything in the plumbing code. (single family dwelling-thanks)

Maybe suggest a small drain directly below the faucet. Sure seems like a recipe for problems later on, like when somebody doesn’t close the valve all the way, or the cartridge goes bad and starts dripping.

I've seen this a lot, mostly in places like public bathrooms where they've have a hose bibb behind a lockable access panel, and the room has a floor drain.

Logic isn't in the codes. If you can allow a pot filler without a drain... then why not a faucet at a coffee bar without a drain? What difference does it make? And what code section would you cite?

My refrigerator at home has a water dispenser on the door. It is essentially a faucet without a sink.
I'd say that code-wise, however you consider a water connection to a refrigerator dispenser is how you could also consider a water connection for a coffee bar:

I'm having trouble between a pot filler for a big pot on the range versus one for a coffee pot or Keurig machine. Also what part of the chapter 1 purpose does this impinge on? Is it really a health and sanitation hazard?

As it does not create "waste"...there is no problem...

P2601.2

Plumbing fixtures, drains, appurtenances and appliances used to receive or discharge liquid wastes or sewage shall be directly connected to the sanitary drainage system of the building or premises, in accordance with the requirements of this code. This section shall not be construed to prevent indirect waste connections where required by the code.

Exception: Bathtubs, showers, lavatories, clothes washers and laundry trays shall not be required to discharge to the sanitary drainage system where such fixtures discharge to systems complying with Sections P2910 and P2911.
