CBC 2010 Are the doors in an apartment building required to have self closers on them, simular as say between an attached garage and dewelling?

If a rated Corridor, 715.4.8.2 Automatic-closing fire door assemblies.

Automatic-closing fire door assemblies shall be self-closing in accordance with NFPA 80.

I agree with Mark too. If it's a fire-rated door (and it should be), it has to be self-closing and self-latching. It may also require gasketing depending on which code the doors were installed in accordance with.

The automatic-closing device serving an apartment door may require a more robust closer than the hinge with a spring that separates your house from your garage.
