We are finalizing the Fire Apparatus Access road layout for project. We have the following queries –
Query #1:
Section 503.1.1 of IFC 2018 , which requires an approved fire apparatus access road for every facility such that such roads are within 45 m of all portions of the facility. The code does note that the fire code official is authorized to increase this distance where the building is protected by the Automatic Sprinkler System. However, the code does not mention the extent of such an increase. your insight is highly appreciated

There is an appendix D in the IFC which provides a further requirement for Fire Apparatus Access Road. However, this appendix D is not mandatory and is subject to adopting ordinance. Dose the appendixes be part of the Code?
