We have someone starting a flea market and adding open buildings. They have used porta-potty in the past with just tables but now with a permanent buildings can they still get by or should they have a restroom on the property? Any opinions will be appreciated.

stevegw, welcome to the board.

Are they actually buildings are are they just poles with a roof over them...shade structures?

flea market

They want to put in buildings with walls. I told them if it was just a roof they could continue the way they were but I think when you have buildings they need the restrooms. Of course they say other places let them do it.

Awwww the old "Every other city let's me do it!"

Well......then you need to go over to that "other" city and build it! We build to code around here!!!

A lot of times i will say.......you mean over in (enter city name). I'll jus give Joe a call. Just a minute....I've got his number right here in my cell phone!!

Skip, there was some reason I worded my original reply that way but I'll be dad-gummed if I can remember why I just didn't say pole barn!!

Well biting the apple one step at a time.

1. Welcome to the site.

2. Maybe yes/no.

This a year round deal or once in while event? Tucson runs a gem show for two weeks a year (don't ask me how I know) and at some of the outside covered buildings they have lots ADA porta-potties available. We've allowed them for outside events held here in the city.

Running more to the other end (full time) they should be installed and be done with.

Need any jewerly???

porta potties are never properly maintained... I'd probably require a permanent restroom facility.

What kind of jewerly, Fred?

In the Federal District, when there is a big temporary event, the organizer always provides porta potties (like the inaguration... the science fair on the National Mall, etc).

We required them for a ple barn type sheds here. Restrooms were in separate building.

They used Onduline corrugated asphalt roofing directly on the purlions--biggest tar paper shack in the county--complete with Masonary fire walls.
