I am a member of another forum that has a tactical purpose and is populated by military infantry, personal protection contractors and police, both patrol and SWAT.

A requirement for the board is a comprehensive profile. This serves the purpose to identify your frame of reference when posting facts or opinion. For instance, when talking about combat loadout or lethality of a certain round, a bonofide MARSOC Marine's experience will weigh heavily, which opposed to my opinion would be considered moot.

It is heavily moderated, pee-pee spankings are common, and more obnoxiousness and hurt feelings are allowed there than here.

But the point is a detailed profile so other members can go to your page and determine if maybe you have something to say, or might just be blathering on with no gravitas.

In that spirit I have updated my profile and encourage others to do likewise, for clarity.

Brent,

There's been plenty of unruly behavior. Worse that anything you presented and unrelenting. It sometimes got close to bizarre before a moderator would step up.

It's all a matter of who you screw with. You focused on Mark Handler and from what I can tell, he is protected. I was surprised that such namby pamby jabs got Jeff all worked up.

As far as a profile helping to identify who to listen to....it becomes apparent after a while. Many times I have told everyone that I am sometimes full of shlt....and you might not know when that is.

That's good comedy.

Honestly, I like having fun. And I have not, nor will I say anything here that I would not strait up say to anyone sitting strait across from me, drinking beers. Tactful or not.

The way the board is moderated is non of my business, I just prefer to not get banned.

But for THIS thread, it spawned from two things. The first was me assuming a member was an inspector when he is not, and another regarding Jeff's post about the the "been doing this 30 years" guy.

There is a HUGE difference in being a reputable tradesman or contractor, working in the system, getting and passing inspections, learning, keeping up with the times and trying to grow a business, and some dude that has been working underground the last 15 years and passed his last inspection in 1998.

The same thing applies to former experience. Just because at some time in the past you put hammer to nail for a year when you were young does not give you much of a perspective on how things are today, or even 10 years ago. A hobbyist is not a pro.

If that were true, I took architectural drawing 2 elective periods for 3 years in high school. That makes me an architect.

Anyway, my main point is it's better to know more about who you are addressing so you can determine more accurately their perspective on a subject.

It is a misdemeanor, for any person who is not licensed to saying you are an architect.

a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not less than one hundred dollars ($100) nor more than five thousand dollars ($5,000),
