Getting ready to go back to the County Building Official

Just thought I would make a post stating that I am applying for the County position and considering leaving the City position The current BO stated his retirement day is next week (two weeks notice after 23 years of service). Both jobs are good but the County Building Official gets alot more windshield time around these parts. Both are pretty much Inspector/Dept. head positions. They both have their pros and cons. Just looking forward to a larger territory and the opportunity to go back to the same entity (County) where I started as the assistant.

Should be interesting. The Assistant Inspector that took my place when I left is also applying for the position. Hope there isn't too much angst if/when I come back as the BO and she is still the assistant to me.

Update, New BO not to be hired until new Community Dev director is hired. Looks like the assistant Inspector will be running the show over there for a while. All kinds of changes happening there. Could make for a difficult transition. Meanwhile, starting to get busy here. Not so sure if I want the County position after all. Will report back after the dust settles.
